Gummy Bear lab
I'm so sorry I haven't blogged in while, but whenever I get out of school, it's already 4:30 so I don't have a lot of free time (homework time doesn't count!). Anyways, last week in science we had the gummy bear lab! It was sort of a 2-day project, because first on Friday we set up our data table, which was a sheet of paper that had our hypothesis, conclusion, and graph on it, then we got our gummy bears which were in plastic cups, then weigh them. I accidentally put water in my cup before I weighed it, so my weight was 22.4 g. After you weighed them, then you supposed to put water in them. Whoops! The reason why we had to put water in them was because on Monday, after they sat in water for two days, we recorded what they looked like. Some were huge, some were falling apart, and even some had mold on them! Mine did and it was gross!

Bubble lab/ NMST
Yesterday in science we got to do our first experiment of the year! Mr. NFL called it the Bubble Lab, and what we had to do was test 3 of the most top leading brands of soap, Dawn, Joy, and Ajax. He gave us a straw, a ruler, and the cups of soap with an eye dropper along with it, then he told us to blow the bubble first, then take the ruler to measure how big the bubble was when it left residue. We had to make a hypothesis of what brand of soap would make the biggest bubble, (mine was Dawn) and write it down on a piece of paper that he handed out to us, that we also had to write the measurements of the bubbles on, then add them up to make the average. A lot of mine were about in the 3.5, and 7.5 range. Compared to my friends, who had , like 19 cm., mine were way small! My hypothesis was that Dawn would make the biggest bubble, but I was wrong! Joy beat Dawn by .4! Dawn's average was 8 cm., and Joy's was 8.4 .
I'm going to start adding these things I call Newcomer Middle School Tips, or NMST for short. So one NMST is that you should always be bold and try new things. That's beside the whole Bubble Lab point, but I think I should just let people know that you shouldn't only hang with the friends that you had at elementary school, you should make new friends, and maybe introduce them to your old friends. If it's really hard to make new friends, just smile and say hello. You don't have to make friends immediately, the only thing you have to do is talk. Anyways, thanks for reading and always make new friends! (;

The big day!!!
Today was the first day of school! I was so nervous, but excited at the same time! The first thing we did was go to the cafeteria, and wait for our home room teachers to call our names to go to class. Guess who my teacher was... Mrs. Throwback! Now I was super excited! We spent most of the morning with her, talking about agendas, homework, school rules, the usual first day stuff. Then she took us on a tour of the whole school. We saw the chorus/music room, (I'm in chorus!!) saw the gym, rooms where our AHPL classes would meet. AHPL, pronounced apple, is like our extracurricular activities, like drama,band, football, etc. So after that we got our lockers! I was so pumped for that! I'm next to a lot of the kids that went to my elementary school! Then we got to eat lunch at 11:48 (finally!). We don't get our schedule until next Monday so that stinks! Before lunch I had a tooth that was aching so so much! Then at lunch it finally fell out! Thank goodness! After we ate, then we went to the gym to learn about our AHPL class teachers, and more about our middle school! It was really, really awesome day!

Dress code!!!! Evil!!!
At my school we have a very, very, very strict dress code! You can only wear dresses that come to your knees, no leggings, except with dresses, and get this, you can't wear shorts that don't touch your calf (below your knee)! Also you have to pass the Flamingo Test (dun,dun,dun!), which is a test where you have to test your shorts length (so frustrating!). Like, if you have Bermuda shorts that come right above your knee, that don't pass the Flamingo Test, you can't wear them. The shirts rule I don't have a problem with, no see-through, ripped, lace, etc. But it's sooo frustrating!!!

Follow-up on Transition Camp
I'm writing some more about Transition Camp, because I don't think I wrote a lot the first time (gimme a break, it's my first blog!😜) So, here is Transition (boot) Camp part duo. When me and my mom and my little brother got there, we went into the cafeteria to be sorted into our "communities" Visual, and Peace. Then the parents and the kids went their separate ways, so the kids could see their teachers. The science teacher I was talking about? I'm going to nickname him Mr. NFL. And my preschool/langauge arts teacher? I'll name her Mrs. Throwback (throwback Thursday(; )Math= Mrs. Jeprody, and Social Studies= Mrs. Peace sign

Transition (boot😉) Camp
Hey everybody! I just want to say before I start going on, and on about middle school, this my very first blog ever! Okay know that I said that, lets get down to the main topic (drumroll please) Transition Camp! So today we learned who our teachers are, what rooms we're in, etc., etc. I even have one teacher who was a NFL referee! Also I have another teacher who was my preschool teacher! Crazy!!! Science sounds fun though, because our teacher says he will barely ever give us homework! We also got our school shirts today too.
